Shot of Boost to My Mojo

If you've ever been to a Jamba Juice then you know you can order a boost for that smoothie.  Well, let me tell you, this week has been like a boost shot to my mojo.  Such encouragement from all the blogger buds, regulars and new.  Roland Yeomans gave me the pleasure of sharing his story.  And I read this interview at Susan Kaye Quinn's blog that just had me thoroughly encouraged to maintain my stick-ti-it-iveness.  It all left me feeling, well, like this:

My heart is filled with joy being part of such a wonderful community of people.  So here's a word of encouragement from the doctor of rhymes.

"I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind.
Some come from ahead and some come from behind.
But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see.
Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!"
~ Dr. Seuss

Everyone have a wonderful weekend  :-)

That picture makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and the quote makes me want to get on a sport field with my troubles and take them down :) You just gave a boost to me, so thanks!

That's a great quote, Angela! Thanks for sharing. I'm super glad you're feeling so warm & fuzzy these days. :))

Btw, I have to ask, where in the heck did you find that dandy gadget to the right with your wip percentage stats thingy?? I need a constant reminder like that on my blog to keep me in check with my rewrites of Vinegaroon Moon!!! I've been trying to come up with my own, and I've failed miserably.

Jess - I stumbled across that picture and just felt warm flowing from it. It's full of so much earthy life. I'm glad to spread the "boost" of encouragement.

Candy = I use a progress meter at this link: http://honorless.net/progressbar.htm
It really does come in handy and keeps me honest.

Jennifer - Troubles may come and go, but they've found no love here today :-)

I've heard it said that online friends aren't "real" friends.

Wrong.

I love the writing community. They've always helped me when I've been down. I'm glad writers usually try to lift each other up rather than putting each other down.

Raelyn - Use that boost and have a wonderful day.

Tara - Ha! It is Friday the 13th. Well, going to try to have a great day. Thank you.

LD - You know, sometimes, it's the "real" friends who you kind of wonder about. But, thankfully, the friends I have in "real" life are so honest, real and encouraging that I couldn't ask for a better clan of gals.

J.A. - Thank you. This week has been a super nice week.

Sangu - Why yes, it actually is. Can't believe I waited so long to be a part of it.

Charlie - Thanks you. Me too. Been good for meeting my 250 word count challenge each day. Hoping to keep it up for this weekend.

Barbara - I believe that is the only way to be. What good does it do you or the person who's down to kick them while they're there? None.

Cynthia - Thank you. You have a wonderful weekend as well.

You too, Angela!

Hahahaha I love the picture.

And I find the writing community to be such a wonderful group of people. I live in Utah, where there are tons of YA writers, so I get to meet a lot of authors in person. They're all so kind and encouraging. Seriously, I never understood the concept of the hermit-writer all cloistered away in a remote cottage....I can't imagine writing without writing friends!

So glad you're in that great place! It is so encouraging to see others uplifted and ready to take on their goals.

Are you all rested up after your holidays? It's been a slow and easy start to this new year for me. I finally got my Christmas tree down today with hubby's help. Glad it's done, but I hate taking it down. I love sitting in the evening with all those soft glowing lights....sigh. I'll miss it until next December.

Angela, I still can't believe I wrote my first book alone, without knowing this amazing community of writers was out here. I don't know how I did it, but I do wonder how much better it could have been if I'd known what I know now.

My next book may not be "my debut" technically, but it feels like my first, now that my eyes have been opened.

What an encouraging quote. You're so right, when things get tough for me, in the writing world, I come to my friends here, they are such a boost. I hope things get better for you and thanks for the boost!
