Winner's Choice

On the day Fane stopped by to visit, with his wonderfully adorable self, author Heather McCorkle offered up a chance to win either The Secret of Spruce Knoll or Channeler's Choice to one randomly selected commenter.  Winner's Choice :-)

Okay.

Heather rocks so much that TWO commenters have been randomly selected, because one just isn't enough :-)

Raelyn Barclay and Candilynn Fite!

If she has not already, Heather will be in contact with you via e-mail to find out which novel you'd like to have.

Now...off to the comments!  Something I'm curious about.  For giveaways, what do you, my fellow readers and writers, prefer to win as part of a giveaway?

  1. Congrats to the winners. I prefer winning books. I don't really enter the swag giveaaways.

  2. Congrats to Raelyn and Candylyn!

I suppose given a choice I'd like to win something unique in relation to the book. Useful swag with added value.

I do have a pet peeve about contests though. I hate it when people who never comment otherwise, show up just for a contest. Winning should reward the faithful reader, fervent fan, or someone who went above and beyond to make something happen. ...at least in my fantasy world.

    1. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Maria. I have to admit, I've avoided contests sometimes where the requirement was to follow. If I'm pretty sure I'm not going to visit at least once a week, I won't take up a contest spot.

  3. I love winning a book. It's a great treat! I also love when an Amazon gift card is given away along with the book. I can be introduced to a new author 'risk-free'. Ha!

    Right now, I'm participating in the Sinful Siren's Giveaway Hop...and one author is giving away an amazing gift! She's got two or three books, an Amazon gift card, and a basket filled with goodies to pamper yourself! I was so impressed with her giveaway! I'd never thought to give away a gift basket before along with a book. Innovative. :}

    1. Innovative ideas can really be attractive and get attention for a book as well.

  4. Congratulations to Raelyn and Candylyn. I love winning books but occasionally an author will offer a critique or some other service and those are great, too.

  5. So cool...thanks Fane, Heather, and Angela :D

As to your question Angela, books and gift certificates are always awesome. But like Maria, I also like something unique to the book.

Maria also brings up a great point about contests/giveaways as rewards to loyal followers. (One of the reasons I was glad you won what you did last month, Angela.) Yet I also see contests as a way to find new followers.

    1. I'm quite glad you and Candylynn won. Both of you are regular followers and offer encouragement to me. I can't tell you how much I value seeing regular followers win something.

  11. Angela, I love winning books and have collected some excellent reads that way. And when I give something away on my blog (as my guest author will do tomorrow), it's almost always a book.
