I've shared my writing, which I hope you all have enjoyed. And I've shared my heart (panics, insecurities, inspirations). Can one year really make a difference?
Why, yes. Yes it can :-)
For #Writemotivation, I'd usually be listing my monthly goals and sharing an update. But in that spirit, I'll share a few highlights of one year:
- Completed the first draft of two new shiny ideas - one from NaNoWriMo 2011 and the other from the A to Z Blogging Challenge 2012.
- Completed first round revisions of both works.
- Participated in several blog tours and book launches for indie, small press and traditionally published writers (No fave publishing route here. I just love a good story).
- And I've met some of the most caring, gifted, talented and giving people by becoming part of this writing community. Where once I felt alone on this journey, I don't anymore. There are others who share my uncertainty, my doubts, my fears.
In the one year since starting this blog, I can honestly say that I KNOW I've grown in my writing. And yes, I also KNOW I have a long ways to go. I suppose there really isn't an end to the learning. And I'm okay with that.
So how long have you been blogging? Has it made an impact upon your writing? Your life?

Happy Blogversary! I had no idea that you've only been blogging for a year. It feels like you've been doing it longer because you sound so experienced.
ReplyDeleteI've been blogging for a year and a half now.
Thanks, Natalie. I still feel like quite the young guppy in a tank of knowledgeable fish that swim about effortlessly while I'm still learning my fins :-)
DeleteI've always been inspired by your accomplishments, especially given you have a little one and a full time job. It's hard to peel off those little strips of time to get things done, but you do it exceptionally well.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, my friend.
Thanks, Maria. I've learned A LOT from you. Your word choice, topic ideas...so much I've gotten by paying attention to the little things :-)
DeleteCongratulations on a year of blogging! I started two years ago, and am amazed at how much I've learned from this community :)
ReplyDeleteSo much to do and learn within the writing community. I love it!
DeleteWell, I guess this was meant to be! I've awarded you several awards this morning. Sorry, for hoarding them...
ReplyDeleteNo need for apologies :-) Thank you!
DeleteCongratulations! You've come a long way, accomplished a lot, and met some cool people.
ReplyDeleteI've blogged for over two and a half years now and couldn't begin to list all of the blessings.
Alex, you are like the blogging rock star dude. I just can't begin to understand how you do all that you do :-)
DeleteHappy Blogiversary!! One whole year and bet it seems like only yesterday when you wrote that first post. I'm coming up to my own blogiversary too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pre-Blogiversary! Yeah, you know, it doesn't feel like it's been a whole year.
DeleteHappy Blogiversary! Doesn't it feel great? I know when I hit my one year mark, I couldn't believe I'd found so much to write about in a year!
ReplyDeleteAnd there's still so much to do. Funny, because my biggest excuse for not starting a blog was that I didn't have anything to say. Yeah...not true, I suppose :-)
DeleteGrats on hitting the one year mark!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Eliza. It's been a few first year.
DeleteCongrats! I've been blogging I guess about two years now, give or take. I'm continually amazed by the wonderful people I find.
ReplyDeleteI agree. This community of writers is so full of awesomesauce!
DeleteCongratulations and happy blogiversary! You've accomplished a lot in a year!
ReplyDeleteI've been blogging for... I don't know.... 4 or 5 years. I started on Live Journal, then migrated to Wordpress a year or two ago. I still keep the LJ blog going - just copy my WP posts over there. I like the community on LJ.
And that's another thing, we have more options for blogging than I knew when I first started. Thanks for the heads up regarding Live Journal.
DeleteI felt the impact of blogging on my writing almost immediately. The writer's community on the bloggosphere is really a great source of information. :-D
ReplyDeleteAnd a great source of encouragement and inspiration.
DeleteCongrats on 1 year of blogging and all your writing accomplishments!
ReplyDeleteI don't even know how long I've been blogging in this community. Maybe 3 years? It's crazy how much time has passed, and I've been so amazed and grateful to meet all the people I've met through the writing blogsphere. I've definitely made some good friends. :)
What's interesting is that there are some folks whose paths we may not have crossed without daring to blog it out.
DeleteCongratulations and happy blogiversary!!! So glad to have gotten to know you :)
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed getting to know you as well, Susanna.
DeleteHappy Blogoversary! My two year is coming up in September, although it didn't start out as a writing blog - that came after I discovered you all. I'm always inspired by you - I think I'll check out #Writemotivation!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty bad on the Twitter part of #writemotivation but it has been a HUGE thing for me. Ever since I started with my monthly goals, I feel like I'm doing something that shows forward progress.
DeleteYay! Happy Blogiversary, Angela!
ReplyDeleteMe? I've been at it about 1.16 years. :)
1.16 years, huh? How precise :-) So cool!
DeleteHappy One Year Blog-versary! I am impressed by how far you've come with your writing, too.
ReplyDeleteI've been blogging for over three years, and my favorite part is the number of fabulous people who I wouldn't have met otherwise.
I agree. I've enjoyed meeting each and every one of you. Every comment means so much to me, whether I get to reply or not. Call me a sentimental fool :-)
DeleteHappy Blogiversary! You've achieved a lot. I really think it's made a massive difference in terms of my self-confidence and being able to share insecurities with my peers. And I don't think I would ever want to stop learning!
ReplyDeleteBlogging has been such a big blessing in my life. I'm so glad I started. Thanks to all for making it worth the while!
DeleteCongrats on your blog birthday!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Brinda!
Deletehooray for angela! woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteyou've come a long way, baby!
keep going and growing!
glad i know you =)
YAY!!! From the poet-who-knows-it-Tara. Thank you so much for the poem. Now I'm just all a-giggle :-)
DeleteHappy anniversary, Angela. I've been blogging since 2004 and I value the friendships I've made along the way.
ReplyDeleteBTW - did you pitch today?
Thanks, Shelley. You've been at this for a while. So much I can learn from you :-) And yeah, I'm a bit-whole-lotta nervous, but I pitched. Egads! What have I done???
DeleteCongrats on your anniversary, Angela! Woot! I saw your pitch today. I've got my fingers crossed for you. Go, girl, go! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christy. I usually do a good job of talking myself out of doing a contest. Still very unsure of myself. But, I've got to be willing to believe in myself and take a chance. I hoping and praying for the best and preparing for whatever the result will be. But I can definitely use any luck you can toss my way :-)
DeleteWell congratulations, Angela! What an accomplishment on both your blog AND your progress! So happy to have met you. Wish I could visit the blog more. I've just got such a hectic life, and time is very scarce. :) Been working on a novel that's got me stumped right now. But the interaction I get with the writers on Twitter really has helped. I know what you mean when you say "I can honestly say that I KNOW I've grown in my writing. And yes, I also KNOW I have a long ways to go. I suppose there really isn't an end to the learning. And I'm okay with that." I am so right there with you! Keep at it, girl! Keep writing, and keep cheering! And I'll do the same! :D
ReplyDeleteAppreciate it, Jamie. I have to admit, there are some days where I wake up and wonder, "Is this real? Am I actually writing, blogging, working full time and being a mom? Or is the reality that I've gone insane from trying to do too much and this life is a hectic dream?" LOL! Still wondering actually lol!
DeleteHappy (belated) blogiversary!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Jennifer :-)
DeleteHappy blogiversary! I've just hit my 2nd blogging year, and can't believe how many new friends I've made! Sure, I may spend too much time blogging and not enough time actually writing at times, but it is a great way to network with likeminded people and to connect with your audience!
ReplyDeleteHere's to many more blogiversaries to come, and here's hoping you'll soon lose the "In Pursuit of" before "Publishness"!
Isn't the writing community amazing? And thank you for the well wishes.
DeleteHappy Blogaversary. I've learned a lot from blogging, too. It's a great community.
ReplyDeleteThanks, M Pax. I hope to blog for a while to come, learn more and meet more great people like you and and many other writers and readers that are all so awesome!
Deleteaww, congrats on your blogaversary! I'm amazed at how many there have been lately (mine, KT Hanna's, yours, it seems like I'm missing a couple people too . . .)
ReplyDeleteI'll be honest, though, I've been blogging off and on for almost ten years, but it's a different feeling that I've now accomplished one year with my writing blog - and that I haven't run out of anything to say. It baffles me, but I also hope it never ends!
It wasn't until after I started blogging that I understood there were lots of topics to choose from. Just a matter of putting the words together, even for a short post. But that's the beauty of blogging. Choices.
DeleteCongratulations! It also sounds like you had a great year writing wise so that is awesome as well. I just started blogging a couple of months ago but, as you said, due to the great people you meet I already love it.
ReplyDeleteThree Cheers for joining the writing community in the blogosphere. You'll have an even more wonderful time as you continue along.
DeleteBelated happy blogiversary from a three-year-old!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogiversary!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd definitely, I wouldn't have been in the community or improved my writing and querying skills without blogging.
Or met you and had such a great many-hour talk!!!
