When The End is The Beginning

Today marks the end of our Partners in ParanormYA blogtown tour.  Gwen Gardner and I have traveled the blogosphere, to and fro, sharing the great news of our young adult debut novels.  Abby and Indigo, Basil and Badger...these four teens - along with some great secondary cast mates - have opened themselves to the world in very humorous, and sometimes, heartfelt ways.

We thank each and everyone of you who has purchased a book.  If you put a review on Amazon, we appreciate it.  And if you are in the middle of getting ready to put one up, thank you, thank you, thank you.

For those who haven't purchased but have us on your TBR list, many thanks to you and to all who continue to spread the word about our novels.

In the end, it's all about the readers.  So is the beginning.  So please stop by PIP HQ to bid a fond farewell to our delinquent house sitting teens.  May it not be too long before you read of their next adventures.  And for our final stop, we have the pleasure of being interviewed by the lovely Natalie Aguirre at Literary Rambles.  Please stop by to see what new tidbit we share.

Let us not forget winners for Week 3's Giveaway:

Shannen Aleene Romein - $10 Amazon gift card, Givin’ Up The Ghost ebook and 2 Personalized bookmarks
JC Martin – Neverlove ebook and Personalized bookmark
Jennie Bennett – 10 page critique and 50 page critique
Mary Preston – Personalized bookmark
Stephen Tremp – Personalized bookmark

If you have not already, you should be hearing from one of us soon.

The Big Swag giveaway is still ongoing so make sure to enter to win.

Animals in the Yard

To know what that title's all about, please make your way over to Tara Tyler Talks.  She's a howling hoot :-)

Things seem a little too quiet over at PIP HQ.  Feel free to check on the girls, make sure they haven't fallen prey to some new scheme lol!!

The Last Piece of Chocolate

Chocolate lovers, you know what it's like. You nibble at it, savor every morsel of that chocolate until you get down to the Very. Last. Piece. You hold it in your hand, devour it with your eyes before you slip it between your lips and let the cocoa melt over your tongue, coating your taste buds with yummy goodness, briefly flooding you with a euphoria of joy.

Then...

It's over.

That was the last piece.

I've been experiencing that chocolate-high since beginning our Partners in ParanormYA blogtown tour.  For me, being in this moment of the last three days is like reaching for that last piece of chocolate. I don't really want it to end, but it must reach a curtain call...and Wednesday, Halloween - All Hallow's Eve - will come, along with the end of PIP's blog tour.

Not getting there on a low note. Oh no, my friends. I'm embracing that euphoria of joy, all smiles and giggles from the support shown with each step of the way.  Before the invitation to hop on over to today's stop, I'd like to give a special THANK YOU to my partner in crime, Gwen Gardner. I recently ordered a paperback version of Givin' Up the Ghost.  When I checked the mail, I found Amazon had sent my book (YAY!) and that I had a small package from Gwen (WOOT!).  Here is what my book and her gift look like together:
I make no claims of being a good or even subpar photographer so please forgive the  imperfect picture lol!!
In the middle is my book, flanked on either side by personalized bookmarks - one for me and one for my daughter. It brought such a smile to my face and a tingle to my heart.

Now go forth and enjoy PIP HQ happenings and please, please stop by Dianne Salerni's blog, In High Spirits, for two reasons.  1) Celebrate her wonderful publishing news. 2) Check out some real life PIP case files.

Dont' forget, the Big Swag giveaway is still ongoing. Please enter for your chance to win :-)

Let the Games Begin!

I hear there's a villain vs. villain match up over at PIP HQ.  Abby and Basil (Neverlove) along with Badger and Indigo (Givin' Up the Ghost) are supposedly in the middle of it.  I heard this from a reliable source :-)

I want to give a special thank you to the blog buddies that let us crash at their spots this week to share our characters - and a bit of ourselves - with the world.  Even if you don't go to follow up on a silly blog post you heard about, they are each great blogs to invest in.

October 22 - Cherie Reich
October 22 - E.J. Wesley
October 24 - Maria Zannini
October 24 - J.C. Martin
October 25 - Linda Jackson
October 25 - Michelle Pickett

Today, we're at Tyrean's Writing Spot to break from a bit of the humor and share about a topic that is special to both of us, something you'll notice when you read our books: a line Gwen and I both made final decisions not to cross.  And we're both happy with our choice.  We hope readers can appreciate it as well.

Who's Up for a Little Laverne & Shirley and Franny 911?

That's what you'll get when you check out our guest posts today.

Linda Jackson at Writers Do Laundry, Too revamped Laverne & Shirley to do it "Gwen and Angela" style (No, do not read that as Gangnam Style lol!!!)

Our resident ghost, Franny, from Givin' Up the Ghost, decided to impart some of her fashion wisdom on a tough fashion case.  Check out Michelle Pickett's These Words Tell a Story to see if she succeeds.

I just know the girls are up to no good.  I wonder if they're even at PIP HQ.  Think you can check it out, please?  While you're there, you can add yourself to this week's giveaway and/or the Big Swag giveaway.

And for those of you wondering about Gangnam Style, here is Psy to share a bit more. If you are at work where synthesizer-infused music and foreign language can get you in trouble, please put on your headphones lol!

Hump Day! Word!

And the word is: Bloggy love!

Help me and Gwen continue in spreading the love on our blogtown tour as we visit the homestead with Maria Zannini and face a few questions with Fighter Writer J.C. Martin.

Probably a good idea to check and see what those girls are doing over at PIP HQ.  I have a feeling they are up to something...dangerous.

Don't be fooled by their looks.  They can get into some wicked situations lol!

Today, I know it will be a bit bizarre, but we only have one stop. Nadja Notariani is a great writer and blogger so please stop by and say "hi" to her.  If you happen to stop by and aren't able to catch our post, don't worry, time differs for everyone.  But you know PIP HQ has new blog drama Abby and Indigo can't help getting into. Is it something bigger than they can handle, even more dangerous than unauthorized parties and drinking up my supply of Wild Cherry Pepsi? Only one way to find out, so definitely stop by there and see what troubles the girls have gotten into now.

Gwen and  I are still on the loose - I mean - still touring around the blogosphere, visiting blog friends here and there. With a new week comes a new giveaway. Please feel free to enter your name in the giveaway with a Tweet, a follow, a "Like" or more. The Big Swag giveaway is still ongoing until our blogtown tour ends on October 31st.

It Was a Dark and Stormy Novel...

Although it hasn't been dark and stormy on this blog tour :-)
Please feel free to see what shenanigans the girls are getting into over at PIP HQ while Gwen and I enjoy some writerly musings at Candilynn Fite's blog and enjoy the art of conjuring tales for young minds at Susan Kaye Quinn's blog.

A note about Candilynn:  She has taken the picture book bull by the horns and published her picture book at uTales, Little Acorn's Big Fall.  Already got my copy and so thrilled for her taking this leap.

A note about Susan:  She. Just. Rocks! No two ways about it.  If you are ever in need of knowledge, especially regarding self-publishing how-tos, her blog is like Knowledge Central.  I'm waiting for her to turn her blog into a virtual storefront of Self-publishing Fantastic-ness :-)

Thank you, Stephen :-)
Now that I'm pausing from gushing joy, joy happiness, please head on over to PIP HQ to find out if anything is shared about what was on that USB Devourer brought to the girls.

Also, follow Gwen and I as we head on over to share a few things Under the Tiki Hut with Carol Kilgore and enjoy being authors to books for paranormal and mystic minds with Mina Burrows.

PIP Still Rolling and THE SECOND SIGN Cover Reveal

***The Partners in ParanormYA blog tour is still going strong.  We invite you to continue laughing/giggling/busting a gut with us as we visit Angie Sandro for a Givin' Up the Ghost and Neverlove fashion breakdown, of sorts :-).  We'll also discuss "Love Bites" with Shelly Akron, Sir Poops A Lot and Hairball (have to love those pet names.)***

Today, I have something special.  It's a lovely cover for all the world to see, enjoy, hug it, and love it and all that mushy stuff :-)

Welcome, THE SECOND SIGN by Elizabeth Arroyo:
I LURVE her mark and those Gothically angelic wings.  Le sigh :-)

THE SECOND SIGN by Elizabeth Arroyo
Genre: Young Adult Dark Fantasy/ Paranormal Romance
Release Date: February 07, 2013

Synopsis:
Bred to believe in the war between angels and demons, Gabby has come to the conclusion that love is responsible for war, jealousy, and all the other deadly sins she can think of. So when she’s exiled to the middle of nowhere for getting kicked out of her fifth school for fighting, she doesn't expect to meet Jake. Much less fall in love. But Jake is quickly drawn to the eerie beauty of her violet eyes while Gabby is unsettled by their undeniable connection.

When a demon guardian comes to collect her soul, she refuses to give it up. She’s not a demon. She can’t be. Her father and twin brother are angels. The demon gives Gabby twenty-four hours to decide her allegiance, and then starts killing her short list of friends, leaving a message behind: She is the Second Sign.

As Gabby and Jake begin to unravel the mystery behind the Second Sign, she learns Jake may be the key to saving her soul. But it means a sacrifice has to be made that will change their lives forever.

Why We Dream

Taking the dive into self-publishing wasn't something taken lightly by Gwen or myself.  But it was a choice we both believed in.

A dream we both believed in.  Today, we're stopping at Meradeth Houston's blog, Write Stuff.  But I wanted to share something that can be enjoyed by writers, readers and music lovers.

I cried when I visited Ellen Oh's blog and watched these two videos sharing what recently happened for indie band Monsters Calling Home.  Not a bad cry.  A cry familiar with those who dream and find joy in seeing the dreams of others come true as well.  Please stop here and check it out.

Wild Cherry Pepsi Debacle

By now, I think most people know of my - ahem - adoration for Wild Cherry Pepsi.  So I encourage you all to please see if the girls have figured out what to do now that my stash has been wiped out.

Also, Gwen and I will be visiting Jessa Russo and J.L. Campbell today.  Please stop by for a spell.

Party at PIP!!!

It's TGIF.  A few days before launch day.  I wanted to share with all those that visit this blog that my blog may have a random post about something else every now and then, but with the upcoming blogtown tour coming up, there'll be a lot of focus on the tour during the month of October.

Gwen and I are going to "hand over" the PIP blog to our characters while we go about visiting from blog to blog.  I'd like to encourage all those who haven't yet, to visit and follow PIP (Partners in ParanormYA) to see what shenanigans the teens will be getting up to over there.

As the saying goes, "When the cat's away, the mice will play."

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hugs and kisses!

IWSG - It's Really Happening

Dear Reader,

I wouldn't consider myself anyone particularly special.  I'm a single mom.  I work hard during the day.  Love and help my Chipmunk after the paying gig is over then put her to sleep so I can focus on what I REALLY want to do.  Write. For a living.  But, like, write stories, novels and tales that I would love to share with the world.

I had to admit something to myself that I don't think I considered.  I started to pursue this path to show my little one the importance of following a dream, but I'm learning I'm worth the work of this dream as well.  YOU, the reader, are worth the work of sharing my story with you.  I'm excited that some of you will love it.  Some of you may think it's okay and others will think its a waste of data space (ouch!)

But NEVERLOVE is here.  In all of its beauty, imperfection, emotion and drama.  And on October 8th, I'll do my best to shake off some of the nervous-nellies to show FB-love to anyone that visits my FB page or the Partners in ParanormYA page to mention they bought it, added it to their TBR or sent up a smoke signal to the eBook gods to see if you should buy your eBook copy.

I'm nervous.  Really nervous.  But I'm moving, slowly, from being totally insecure about this self-publishing process.  Thanks to Gwen, my partner in PIP, to other writers for so much support and the writing community for being so great.

Now I turn to you, Readers, for this is a dream come true for me, but it's a new story to discover for you.  I hope you enjoy the read.

Angela B. - a proud member of IWSG and thankful for this group.

***Now, I'd like to mention something for your consideration.  Suicide is one of the sensitive subjects mentioned in NEVERLOVE.  It's not an easy thing to discuss, but it can be addressed in different ways.  The Out of the Darkness giveaway is one way where authors, bloggers and agents are working together to raise awareness for this issue.  Click here for more details and to join the giveaway or show your support through the fundraiser. ***

The World is Not Coming to an End...Yet

Okay, so you're probably wondering, "Uh, Angela, what's the deal with that title?"

No, I'm not going all "Doomsday" on you guys.  Actually, I'm in a very happy place.  The title of the post is because...wait for it...don't hold your breath because you know I'm going to tell you...

I made a book trailer for NEVERLOVE.

Hot Tamales!!!

Actually, Animoto made the trailer.  I just supplied a few photos, tossed in a few words of text and KABLAM!  There's my book trailer.  And surprisingly, hell didn't freeze over and the world kept turning on its axis.  So my tinkering with technology went okay.  This time :-)

How did this happen?  Ben Holewinski, a member of Writer Support 4U, made mention of a great site that offered royalty free music that could be used for a book trailer.  Me, being technologically questionable at times, admitted I'd love to make a book trailer if I knew how.  KS Brooks shared a link for "How to Make a Thirty Second Book Trailer Video Using Animoto". So, hey, music, a site...why not give it a try?  Here's the result.  Please bear in mind there is music in case you are somewhere noise must be kept to a minimum.

Make a video of your own at Animoto.
The music is Lone Harvest by Kevin MacLeod and his site is incompetech, the royalty free site.  Great selection of stuff so I'd recommend checking it out.

I'm not too sure if book trailers have a significant impact on building interest, but I thought it would be nice to have one if the chance availed itself to me.  Also, all of you are welcome to share this trailer as well.  Please make sure to credit the music and keep this great composer's name going on the circuit.  It is also on YouTube.

What are some of your experiences when it comes to book trailers?

***And yes, the countdown is on.  October 8th is closer and closer still :-)****
