Most of you who've been to my blog already know I wrote and self-published an upper YA novel with paranormal, action and romantic elements woven throughout. Neverlove is my YA debut and yep, I'm very proud of this story, encourage any and all to give it a try. It's a story of overcoming. Boy do Abby and Basil have some things to overcome.
For this hop, hosted by I am a Reader, Not a Writer and Booklove101, I'd like to spotlight another YA novel I really enjoyed reading:
Katana by Cole Gibsen
Kill Bill meets Buffy in this supernatural samurai tale
Rileigh Martin would love to believe that adrenaline gave her the uncanny courage and strength to fend off three muggers. But it doesn't explain her dreams of fifteenth century Japan, the incredible fighting skills she suddenly possesses, or the strange voice giving her battle tips and danger warnings. While worrying that she's going crazy (always a reputation ruiner), Rileigh gets a visit from Kim, a handsome martial arts instructor, who tells Rileigh she's harboring the spirit of a five-hundred-year-old samurai warrior.
Relentlessly attacked by ninjas, Rileigh has no choice but to master the katana--a deadly Japanese sword that's also the key to her past. As the spirit grows stronger and her feelings for Kim intensify, Rileigh is torn between continuing as the girl she's always been and embracing the warrior inside her.
***kick-butt heroine, HOT martial arts hero, and ninjas - LURVED IT!!***
Now I want to share this samurai-spirit-drama with one lucky winner (US Only). Enter this contest for your chance to win and make sure to stop by other blogs participating in the giveaway hop :-)

This sounds like a book for my to-read list :)
ReplyDeleteGive it a go :-)
DeleteI generally prefer paranormal YA. I have never been sure why though, it's just what I have loved the most. Thank you for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteNot to push my own book here, but Neverlove may be more for you. But I do love a good kick-butt book :-)
DeleteGreat pitch:) I'm learning more and more about YA, having always considered myself more adult fiction-oriented, I'm finding more and more that it overlaps with YA:)
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of ways YA and adult can overlap, especially with the introduction of New Adult.
DeleteI really like the premise of KATANA! I think the cover pose is awkward, but I'd still read it!
ReplyDeleteThe premise is definitely what caught my attention :-)
DeleteThis one sounds good, and what a great cover! I definitely have a preference, sci-fi or fantasy, all sub genres of those two.
ReplyDeleteSound like my kind of reader lol!!
DeleteSounds like a fun read! Have fun with the blog hop. Looks like there are a ton of entries. :)
ReplyDeleteLots of places to enter lol!
DeleteI do like YA, I like to read YA paranormal
ReplyDeleteYAY! Love getting to see what different readers enjoy.
DeleteKatana sounds good - like something J.C. Martin might have written :) - and oh my goodness that is quite a list!!!
ReplyDeleteJ.C. Martin is the Fighter Writer :-)
DeleteThis sounds like a great read! I read anything but I prefer dystopian or sci-fi.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
That's cool :-)
DeleteI think my favorite genre/subgenre of YA fiction is paranormal romance :3
ReplyDeletePNR. Woot!
DeleteI like YA Fantasy and Contemporary.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
So many lovers of fantasy. Count me in there, too :-)
DeleteI am all about the cannot-happen-IRL. I've read a few general romances that I've liked, but I'm all about fantasy, science fiction, time-travel, and the supernatural. I'm also into historical fiction. I love reading a story with people who are exactly the same as you and me, but who live in completely different circumstances.
ReplyDeleteJust something wonderful about escaping to some other place, some other time...just enjoyable.
DeleteI love paranormal and contemporary YA. Thanks for the giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to be a part of it and to share with others :-)
DeleteI prefer contemporary and paranormal YA. I also read fantasy though not as much.
ReplyDeleteI don't read as much contemporary as I tend towards fantasy, sci-fi, dystopians and the such. I've got to check out more contemps.
DeleteI really like romance or paranormal romance is fun, too!
ReplyDeletemestith@gmail.com
Romance is very popular :-)
DeleteI'm out of the age group, so I'm not always as aware of YA releases. I read a lot of m/m...the handful of YA m/m stories I've seen have been surprisingly good!

I don't really have a preference. I'll read anything as long as there isn't explicit torture or animal cruelty/torture. I do tend to read more paranormal stuff though.

ReplyDeletedystopian & paranormal - regnod(at)yahoo(d0t)com
ReplyDeleteI love YA novels but my favorites all have romance and usual a paranormal element.
ReplyDeleteI love YA books, and that is primarily what I read. My favorite genre is Contemporary Fiction, but I really read all types.
ReplyDeleteI love almost all YA Books
ReplyDeleteI don't think I do. As long as it's YA, and fiction, I am game. I am kind of sensible-ish and the crier type so I avoid non-fiction at all cost. Tuesday with Morrie made me cry so much :(.
ReplyDeleteyes, paranormal
ReplyDeleteI am pretty picky. I have to have a female heroine, and typically it has to be written by a female. Just so I can get super into the book.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy YA Horror the most.
ReplyDeleteYA fantasy!
ReplyDeleteI am older so paranormal is fairly new to me. My tried and true favorite ya books are sci-fi/fantasy like CS Lewis, Roald Dahl, etc.
