Writer on Fire

***First, let me thank each and every one of you who stopped by and commented on Monday's blog post. I don't speak of my mother often. When I do, well, if you've lost a loved one that was so ingrained and etched into the very fiber of your being that being without them still doesn't compute after twenty years, you know what I'm talking about.***

So, it is that time again. First Wednesday of the month. Insecure Writer's Support Group, championed by none other than the great Ninja Captain, Alex Cavanaugh.
Get the deets here :-)
Today is pretty much short and sweet.
Here is where I want to be in five years:

Writer On Fire

I want this writing thing to be more than a "thing." I want a career, a livelihood, a way of life. I'm a little afraid because I'm realizing this can take more time than the patience I have in my reserve tanks lol! Not every author will be an overnight success. Perhaps I'll have my overnight success five or six years from now lol!

But that is what I want to be...

Writer on Fire

What can you imagine for yourself in five years?

  1. I'm thinking of 'This Girl is on Fire' Alicia Keys right now. You just keep going. Five years I imagine myself successful in both indie and traditional publishing. Also I'd like to write some songs, not sure how that will work out.

  10. Keep on keeping on, lady. You're a talent and a hard worker--two of the only things I think can really make a difference in this game.

  11. Hi Angela,

Your passion, your fire that is the written word, is a flame of hope that burns brightly and profoundly. You will get there. Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar has told me this :)

I just found out that "IWSG" does not stand for, "I Was Seeking Gary". Oh well, never mind!

All the best and happy writing, Angela.

    Gary :)

    1. Thanks so much Penny and Gary. :-)

And, sorry about that Gary, although I can see why "I Was Seeking Gary" would be a good guess :-)

  12. Very lovely IWSG post, Angela. As to where I want to be in the next 5 years, I'm terrified to look that far ahead, really. It's hard for me to think 5 minutes ahead anymore. Here's to you and your beautiful talent. I'm sure we'll see some smokin' books from your pen in the future.

  13. You ARE on fire, woman! You're beautiful, full of talent, and you WILL get there...probably sooner.

  14. Great goal, and I totally want to be there in 5 years too (or sooner...that's cool too!). By the way, I read your previous post, and it was beautiful and sweet. Your mom sounds like she was a wonderful woman.

  15. Wishing you all the best! And you're right, it's only by achieving high that we'll get anywhere at all!
