It's a Hangover Blog Hop, Evernight Style

Happy New Year from Evernight!

Now that the Christmas cookies are gone, gifts unwrapped, and your holiday visitors have left, you’ve earned some well-deserved TLC. Evernight authors not only have the cure for your holiday hangover, they have fantastic new books for your 2015 reading list, too!

Be sure to visit every stop on the hop and answer each question. The more blogs you hop, the more chances to win the GRAND PRIZE of an iPad Mini sponsored by Evernight Publishing (one entry per blog). Plus, hop each blog for a host of other fabulous prizes. AND...
*I'm going give a prize to one commentor (randomly chosen) as well: $25 Paypal cash.*

So sink into your favorite chair and enjoy your holiday hangover!

I'm not the world's best when it comes to drinking alcohol. There are some folks with the tolerance of a whale. I, on the other hand, have the tolerance of a squirrel lol! However, I've discovered a great way to go from enjoying a night of appletinis, Vegas bombers and cosmos to a cheery morning sans the crazy hangover:

***Lots of water***

For whatever reason, getting in a few cups of water before calling it a night helps reduce the chance of morning headache, dizziness and nausea. It seems to help settle the system to a state of normal. I'm sure there's some science to explain it, but since it works, I just won't question it :-)

Now, enter for a chance to win Evernight’s GRAND PRIZE of an iPad Mini and my blog prize by answering this question (be sure to include your email address to be eligible to win):

So, have you ever experienced a hangover, whether from one drink too many or another overindulgence (like waaaay too much stress from the holidays)? What has been your go-to cure for your hangover?

A good book can work as a hangover cure from stress-related things. I'd recommend Beacon, published by Evernight Teen. It's a YA urban fantasy dystopian filled with action and a budding romance that I truly hope you enjoy!

  10. When I have a hangover (not very often) but I usually drink a glass of water along with 3 motrin. Then I lay down in my bed (curtains and blinds closed) and lay a cool wash cloth over my eyes/forehead for about 30 -45 mins and I usually feel better. Have a Happy New Year.

  11. Orange gatorade has always been my go to, especially during my college party days. Drink a bottle of that and take 2 ibuprofren. Definitely helped to lessen the affects. If I followed my grandfather's advice, it would be a shot of brandy....That never worked for me :)

  33. I drink water, lots of water. Alcohol dehydrates. I've read you're to drink one 8 oz. glass of water for every 1 oz. or alcohol (or mixed drink or beer). I've only had one really bad hangover and I've vowed to avoid ever having another. It was pure misery. Thus far, I've succeeded. I don't drink too much. I have low tolerance, too. I think mine is more along the lines of a guinea pig. :) michelle_willms at yahoo dot com

  39. I have had a hangover before- and lots of water definitely helps. Sleep is a must and I recently read that pickle juice is a perfect cure (a small cupful before bed). I haven't tried the pickle juice- but it does sound interesting. As I do not like the hangover feeling- the best cure I have found is not getting one. :)

Happy New Year and thanks for the AMAZING giveaway!

  41. When I over indulged, not so much any more as I am older and wiser. SpaghettiOs, yes they helped a lot. Tomato sauce products, like pizza and spaghetti sauce help the acid in your stomach. Works for me.

When i'm stressed I read or sleep! So sleep is a big thing for me lol!

Beacon sounds really good! I love dystopian, and it sounds great how you've mixed vampires and humans together.

    Thank you!

  45. I don't suppose this is a question to ask someone who doesn't drink alcohol. *LOL* But I have watched many a friend suffer with one. A few friends swear by energy drinks. I guess it works like water. One other says sex works best. I think that's a good cure for most things! :)

  46. Somewhere along the way, I became the resident DD, for years now, so I don't get the chance to indulge when I go out!But back in the day, some food beforehand, and lots of water, sleep and painkillers after.

  53. I have never had a hangover before (thank God), so I'm not the best with cures. Though water and aspirin can work wonders if you wake up from an evening of overindulging in watching movies and playing Cards Against Humanity with friends :)
