The virtual book blog tour for Beacon stops at Brooke Blogs today. Check out a few hints of what it takes to create a dystopian society. Hint number one: it's not such a distant thing, actually, far more familiar than you may realize. Please be sure to share a "Howdy" with Brooke.
Also, the A to Z blogging challenge continues with the letter F. At Untethered Realms, we're sharing flashes of our fiction for your enjoyment. From what I understand, things get a little... hot!
And a huge shout out of Congrats to Alex Cavanaugh! Today, DRAGON OF THE STARS is officially available! Woot! To celebrate, he and several bloggy friends have put together a fun scavenger hunt. Go here to check out Alex's A to Z post which includes details of the hunt.
With all the places I want you to visit, I can't send you off without a virtual treat. Enjoy this slice of chocolate cake and fortifying cup of coffee :-)
Today is the first day of the A to Z blogging challenge. Woot! Although I am not participating at my blog (boo!) I am part of the fun at the Untethered Realms blog (yay!) where each letter brings you something wonderful to enjoy :-) Be sure to stop by and see what's in store for "A."
Today is also April Fool's Day. I thought about looking up some history for this but this day bears another significance that leaves me in a somber mood.
On this day, a rare angel was born to this world back during the 1940's. Even her name, Gloria, was a tribute to how important she would be to those who crossed her path. As my mother, she was strict and ruled with a heart, mind and soul desiring only the very best for me, my brother and my sister. Her death occurred nearly twenty years ago, yet the loss of her touches the core of me, especially on a day like this when I'd rather be planning a surprise visit to see her, to bring my Chipmunk to her so she can know her grandchild
So, IWSGers, here's the quck thought for today: The sun will come out. The song says tomorrow, but maybe it will shove clouds aside today and shine its warmth upon you. If you're going through a rough patch - writing or life - it's just that, a patch. The sun will come out...
Far sooner than you realize.
As for me, I'll wait for the sun to come out tomorrow. I've embraced this day, embraced the humility it brings and give my heart this day to remember the woman who was - physically - an angellic being. And who is - always - a beautiful part of me being who and what I am today.
