Tis the Season for Giveaways

Can't you smell it in the air?  No.  Not the exhaust from the guy in front of you that needs a new everything so they can stop making smoke signals everywhere they go.  And ignore the odd body odor of the extra sweaty person next to you.  They're working on it, really.  It's a glandular dysfunction.

I'm talking about the smell of the season.  Christmas trees with their pine scents wafting from their corner of the living room as they lean ever so slightly but stay mostly upright.  Candles of peppermint and candy cane, tickling your senses and your sweet tooth.  It's the time of year where most humans actually WANT to treat others like humans just because it's the right thing to do and not for the expectation of something in return.

It's time for GIVEAWAYS!

Beth Revis has a giveaway of EPIC proportions.
Click for details
She's giving away to readers because she wants to.  And for each entry, she's making a donation to a charity. Seriously, how cool is that?

Also, Maria Zannini has organized DIY Christmas.
She's recruited some talented writers and authors to show a different side of themselves.  I happened to be one of the lucky ones chosen.  Let me tell you, I'm honored to be among these wonderful peeps.  Visit her blog December 7th thru 22nd.  Some posts will not have giveaways while others will.  Enjoy being a part of the Christmas festivities.

Don't miss out on all the fun :-)

With all the gift giving going on, have you had a chance to get all your gifts lined up for Christmas?  Or do you see a sprint through the mall on December 24th in your future?

Yes, Beth's giveaway is awesome.

I try not to wait till the last minute to do shopping. We often have to mail the presents to where we're going for the holidays so that helps.

I shopped yesterday and hope to finish up today. It's so nice to shop in the middle of the week without the crowds. I tried last weekend, gave up, and went home :)

I have to sprint this weekend to get my "ship to CA" gifts, but then I'll be putting off the shopping until the kids are out of school. Which could be the definition of crazy but that's how it goes. :)

I'm a last minute Christmas shopper so I'm sure I'll be fighting with other last minute shoppers on the 23rd and 24th. Glad I don't have many people to buy for.

I am done shopping - God bless the Internet!

I do love giveaways! If its free, I'll take two please. I'm doing some online shopping at bloggers sites but mainly buying gift certificates for people. This is what's working for us this year.

Thanks for the info :)

hey angela,
you are always full of positive things to say! thanks for telling us about these! and i would like to make one suggestion for your blog, if you make your left margin smaller, you will have more room for your great posts. they are the focus, right =) just a thought.
thanks for always spreading joy over to me!

Natalie - I haven't been diagnosed for claustrophobia, not manic enough I guess, but I don't favor large crowds all that well. Tolerate them, sorta, when I have to, so shopping with the other million people in the tri-state area is not something I itch to do. So that's the real reason I can't handle the last minute shopping lol!!!

Catherine - You have the best shopping plan. Stick with it.

Susan - Not sure if that will define you as crazy, however, it could be pretty close lol!!! :-)

Angelina - I don't know how you handle it. But rock on!!

Alex - Can we trade places? I so wish I was done :-)

Stephen - These giveaways are quite awesome. And the gift certificates sound like a grand idea

Angela - You are very welcome!

Tara - You rock!! Your suggestion is MOST welcome and I will see if I can figure out this confab thing to make it work. I can say a whole bunch but I've a lot of work to do on the technical end :-)
Thank you so much!

Great pimpage :) I was one of the lucky ones chosen for Maria's DIY as well. Loving what's been posted so far.

We're staying small and focused this year but haven't started the actual shopping, probably this weekend. Either way, I avoid the mall like the plague no matter what time of year, LOL.

Angela Brown said...

Raelyn - I can't say I blame you for staying away. The mall can be an "interesting" place.

I'm ahead of the curve this year. Of course, I cheated and did online shopping. Now if the gifts are late, it's UPS's fault. ^_^

Angela Brown said...

Barbara - I would not consider online shopping cheating at all :-) I'd call it shopping efficiency. And yes, you can let UPS have it if the gifts aren't on time.

Sounds like all kinds of fun! And I'm guessing a sprint thru the mall is in my future :)

Nice layout.

I need to get my shopping done... I've only bought one thing so far. :O

Thanks for the giveaway info!

Susanna - Here's a virtual peppermint flavored green tea to grant you some calming zen in the middle of that last minute shopping :-)

Maria - Awww...shucks. Now I'm all tingly eared and blushing. Thank you so much.

CN - Thank you for the compliment. I got so happy with Tara's suggestion that I modified the background to include more sky blue. It makes me feel happy :-)

I love the smell of the cinnamon pinecones. Ahh. Thanks for the giveaway tips. As for my holiday shopping - so so behind. What happened to November? Did we skip it this year?

Angela Brown said...

Leslie - That's right!!! I almost forgot about those. I got to go get some this weekend, preferably at a time when there aren't a million other cars on the road or tons of people crowding the store. Will have to see.

Christmas definitely has a scent. I actually wrote a post about it for a guest spot next week. Christmas shopping - I don't really do any shopping. Hubby and I don't do the present thing, so I'm all sorted :)

Oh...I'm almost done shopping. Whew! It's the wrapping that I still have to accomplish. Every year I make an oath that I will NOT wait until the last minute.....and then, I do. Sigh. Haha.
