Have your TBR list handy because we have lots of new titles for you to add, including my featured book…

Beacon started as a NaNoWriMo project in 2012. I didn't hit 50k but I had over 25k word count for a story that had to be told. I'm so thankful that after much revising, editing, and getting my query just right, Evernight Teen decided to take a chance on a dreamer like me. The novel is a YA urban fantasy dystopian, a genre mash up filled with self-discovery, unearthing truths, a few fights and a blossoming romance.

About Beacon~
For seventeen-year-old Macie Breen, life in The Colony is a daily norm of being the odd-girl-out, that is, until everyday predictable slams to a screeching halt. Forced to the capital city of Bliss, Macie's life becomes a horrific unraveling as she confronts daunting truths about The Colony as well as who, or what, she is.

Enter for a chance to win EVERNIGHT TEEN’s GRAND PRIZE of an iPad Mini and my blog prize of a $15 Evernight Teen gift card by answering this question (be sure to include your email address to be eligible to win):

What is one of your favorie birthday memories? Was it a particular gift, a party, or maybe something intangible that brings you joy every time you think about it?

I remember one birthday when I got the coolest pair of lace up boots ever. I think I was in 6th grade, which was a rather long time ago but I still remember those boots :)

At my age, I'm trying to forget birthdays. LOL!

My favorite present of all time was getting Chelly, my Australian shepherd. We were inseparable from the day we met. She'll always have a special place in my heart.

Happy birthday to Evernight Teen! My favorite birthday was in 2008 when my husband and I went to Mammoth Cave. We did about five tours that weekend and stayed in a hotel room with a hot tub. :)

One of my fave birthday memories is of being a young child and having my friends and cousins over for a party. I remember playing outside around the willow tree and somehow, it seemed magical.

My favorite birthday memory from childhood was when I turned 11. My family didn't have much money, and we lived way out of town. So we never went out to eat or to movies or anything like that. But for my 11th birthday we got to do both! I can still remember Earnest Saves Christmas with fondness. :)

I was 7 years old and I just finished opening my gifts. When my grandfather said his was outside. I went out and there was a pretty pink bike with tassles on them.He then took me to the near by park to ride it. This was always my favorite birthday because it was the last time I spent time with my grandfather and we had such a good time.

Hi Angela! So interesting that Beacon started as a NANO project. So did my Dorianna. As far as my fave birthday... I was in fifth grade and my dad took me and a few of my closest friends to downtown Philly on the train and then to an Italian restaurant for lunch. We had our own little room. I felt very loved that day, by my dad and my friends.

For my birthday this past year my boyfriend drove 3 hours to come and see me and take me out for a date and we went and had these old fashioned saloon pictures taken. Thanks for participating in the hop! saraannn912@gmail.com

Your question about favorite birthday gifts reminds me of a homemade gift that I received from a girl I had a bit of a crush on when I was about 13. Everyone made fun because it was a little cheap homemade rag doll, but it meant more to me than anything else because it was from that girl. I'm going to have to write about this story on my memoir blog. Thanks for reviving the memory.

Best wishes on the book!

I don't have any real birthday memories. My birthday is shortly after Christmas and New Years so it was overshadowed by the rest.

My favorite birthday memory is my 36th. My husband cleaned the whole house, ran me a hot bath, had 36 balloons, had cooked my favorite dinner for me and picked me up from work so I didn't have to drive. After having been on the road for 3 weeks it was so nice to have everything done.

Happy Birthday to Evernight Teen! I've had a few memorable birthdays. Last year I had fun at the zoo with my nephews. But I think the most memorable was my 15th birthday. The day after I had spine surgery so on my actually birthday I couldn't eat anything. We celebrated the day before and I pigged out on ribs, corn, and chocolate cake. :D

I love birthdays! Hmmm, fave memory... not sure my top fave, but one was on my 16th birthday, I went to see a band play and ended up hanging out with the musicians before the show (who had previously been total strangers) and then they did a birthday shout out to me when they went onstage. Super fun :)

Birthday ... hmm... I honestly can't think, right now. But I do have a pretty cool Mother's Day memory. For my 15th Mother's Day, my husband surprised me with a sudden car ride to a parking lot where he unveiled a gift for me - a burnt orange, limited edition Dodge Charger. I will NEVER forget that. (And not, I'd never received such an elaborate gift before. Normally, he buys me a hairdryer or microwave. LOL)

When I turned 30 my friends surprised me with a dinner out together. Many of my friends had just gotten married, so having a girls night was lots of fun. I can still hear the laughter. :)

What a wonderful birthday event Evernight Teen is hosting! Congrats!

Will be adding Beacon to my TBR! ;)
My favorite birthday memory is the year that my boyfriend (now husband), planned a party with all of our closest friends and family and proposed in front of everyone! It was amazing and there was not a dry eye in the house, including the men. I don't think that he will ever be able to top that one. Lol.
Happy Birthday to Evernight Teen! Thank you for the wonderful giveaway!

Hi! What a great post! I love your cover. Its beautiful! Very eye cating. The characters sound great too! Hmm. Great birthday memory? Everyone one of my birthdays has been nice. But my favorite one was just spending it with my parents and brother. We cooked dinner together, my dad made a cake that was beyond delicious! (and that surprising because he burns water). We played games, watched movies, etc. We laughed so much. I think i was 17. It was a special day! Thank you!! Have a great night/day!
